Book Trailers

In the last fifty years, I’ve written a lot of creative works including stories, poems and plays. In addition, I’ve also written a book of humorous stories, a number of self-help books and two sci fi-fantasy novels. Unfortunately, I’ve never really made any money. This would have been completely disappointing to for me if it had not been for the fact that my work has been widely read over the years. For example, my Booksie.com account has had over thirty-four thousand hits from people who have read my work from countries from around the world.

There have also been times when I have been completely surprised when seemingly out of nowhere someone will write to me and let me know how much they enjoyed reading some specific book or poem of mine. This has been encouraging because with no feedback, it’s hard to figure out how well my work has been received. Even feedback can be difficult though when my creative work has been professionally criticized at times.

But over the past year, I’ve had a number of welcome surprises. For instance, when I put my Sci- fi-fantasy novel Northland Chronicles:​Mother World in Peril on the book of the day by Online Book Club, I received over fifteen five-star ratings. It felt great because it is one of my best creative works.

Then, several months ago, my brother’s best friend from high school emailed me out of the blue and complimented me on my self-help book, The End Justifies the Pain. He went into great detail about how much he learned from it and how much he enjoyed it. I’ve’ always considered this book to be very entertaining and informative, however, by receiving such a compliment, it gave me the idea of putting, The End Justifies the Pain, on another book of the day in August.

If the new book of the day is successful again, I’m considering adding more of my books in the future. To be honest, over the years my writing has greatly helped with my emotional and spiritual growth. Whenever I think I have nothing more to write some inspiration leads me forward again. However, right now I feel my inspiration is fading. I don’t know whether my mind is simply weary or some new source of inspiration is on the horizon. Fortunately, I’m still am able to write songs with my wife, Donna, and that helps fill in the gap. But no matter what, I am grateful for the opportunity and ability to write creatively. It has helped me make sense of the world and my life. I hope you enjoyed reading my newsletter and viewing the book trailers. Next week will be my hundredth newsletter, and I’ve really enjoyed the process. I hope things are going well for you.
